Who we are

SBACO is abbreviated for Somali Birth Attendants Cooperative Organization that was established in Gal kayo city of Mudug region in 1994 by a group of health physicians and senior community development professionals. SBACO is a 25 years operational and active organization in Somalia and Somaliland.

SBACO is a national Women NGO with its Head Quarter in Galkaio Mudug Somalia that has an adequate organizational capacity and expertise to smoothly run its activities and smartly collaborate with its partner’s.

SBACO have offices in Hargiesa, Galkacyo, Cadaado and Beletweyn.  

SBACO Mandate is to improve the well being of Somali women and children and alleviate threats against their rights through providing reproductive and maternal health, GBV, WASH, edult girls education, Livelihood/cash assistance and protection of human rights projects.

Focus areas

Protecting the rights and wellbeing of EVERY child

Protection and Human right Promotions

Reduce and Prevent women and child against violence and violations including GBV, VAW and FGM/FGC which are illegal and none religious based and other harm full traditional practices either physical or psychological.

Health-based Services

Alleviate hunger, starvation, and malnutrition threats with the children through providing them with integrated food ration distributions, therapeutic feedings and appropriate primary health services.

Community developmental programs

Promote the access of urban and rural pastoralists to health facilities through construction of Health Posts and MCHs together with providing of health kits and relevant community health developmental services

Capacity Building

Improve the Capacities of IDPS,youth ,women and host communities through health training courses, productive skills, community developmental schemes and human right and future plans.

Life Saving Operations

Women Empowering on their rights

Empowering women’s political participation, improving women’s representation in senior positions and decision-making structure while working closely with the Women.
