This Project aims to reduce inequality among women and men in the targeted Somali communities and challenge discrimination against women through promoting an inclusive society. The project will mainly contribute to Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 5, gender equality, but also SDG 10, reduced inequalities and SDG 16 peace, justice and strong institutions of the SDGs.

The project’ is to promote women’s leadership and political participation in Galmudug and Puntland states of Somalia, through awareness raising, advocacy, and capacity building at the grassroots level. The project planned to engage 158 youth (both girls and boys), 84 elders, 84 influential women and girls, 14 local councilors and, 60 representatives from 30 CSOs/CBOs and media. The project will establish a forum in the two target districts, as a space for women’s participation.

beneficiaries capturing their perceptions, level of knowledge, behaviors and attitudes on women leadership
and political participation
